Black-shouldered Kite at Nobby 10/06/12

Black-shouldered Kites are a common sight in the Nobby are on the Darling downs.  While driving on the highway they are often seen either perched on the powerlines gazing into the grasses below, or hovering above the fields and paddocks eyeing off its next meal.


This one today was taken from the road on a very overcast cold day, thus the dark colour of the sky.  J.G.
