Flying Foxes - Maroochydore, Qld, Sept 2011

 

While Visiting Family At Maroochydore, these Flying Foxes were very obvious - thousands of them were overcrowding the trees and creek that backs onto their property at Maroochydoore.  They told me that there was at least 5 varieties of flying foxes inhabiting the area, these included endangered breeds of flying foxes.  While the stench was awful - the antics of the flying fox were enjoyable to watch.  We were told that at late afternoon, the sky is almost black - filled with the flying foxes on the move looking for food at night.  J.G.
