Australian Shelducks with Ducklings - Rottnest Island, 25th September 2012

These Beautiful Australian Shelducks and their ducklings really need their own post so I can share the many photos we both took of them after spotting them near a lake at Rottnest Island on our day trip their during September 2012. Brendon spotted the ducklings following their parents among the thick low foilage. They were an exciting site.   B & J

    Adorable. At least on Rottnest they don't have to worry about foxes and cats.

      Yes they were beautiful Vicki - and they blended into the surrounding vegetation remarkably! It is a great habitat for wildlife I imagine - there was plenty of birdlife that's for sure.
