DUMARESQ RIVER - YELARBON QLD
A weekend away fishing also resulted in some some great wildlife sightings on the edges of the Dumaresq river at Yelarbon in Queensland. Peregrine Falcons were without a doubt the highlight, with it being a few years since I have seen one, it was also a first sighting for our son. He also was impressed to see Emus in the wild.
Bird list includes:
White winged Chough
Scaly breasted lorikeets
Gilbert (Willie Wagtail)
Sulfur crested cockatoo.
Little pied cormorant
Chuckles (Tawny Frogmouth)
pacific Black duck
Grey crowned babbler
White necked heron.
Black shouldered kite
White plumed h/eater
Unfortunately the full moon didn't guarantee much fishing success for us this time, but a few more european carp were removed from the river.
